  • Apomero Taverna Restaurant is a hidden little gem of a restaurant along Ikarou street, not many minutes walk from Paphos' Harbour area. Apomero means "Hidden Place", and it's a lovely place in a lovely spot and deserves it's name. But you shouldn't let it stay hidden for long! Discover it, or if you went before re-discover it, for it has a truly friendly owner in Alexey, and some truly delicious food too. The meze here is fantastic, and if you order a carafe of wine to go with you meal you'll there forever drinking it, and unlike many places in Paphos the house wine here is lovely, very drinkable (got to be when it's that size). The Apomero Taverna Restaurant offers great authentic Greek style cuisine, which means it's got a lot more flavours to it then your normal Cypriot dish, and it also has a little touch of Armenian magic too, as the chef is Armenian. All the traditional dishes are served here, and listing them would be a dis-service to Alexey and Co. This place has to be visited for even though it maybe hidden, it's a real gem of a restaurant. Sitting available inside and out, with an out door garden bar, serving the cheapest Heineken in Paphos (at only 1.90 a pint), plus TV's in the bar area for live sport action. The restaurant is also of special interest, or should be, to visitors of Paphos as they have a permanent display of photographic prints of Paphos past, over a hundred years of recorded history on the walls, and truly fascinating. New photos of Paphos are also viewable there too. What could be better than a restaurant that serves delicious food with gallons (seems like it) of red wine, the cheapest Heineken in town, with a garden bar, and live sports when on and a permanent exhibition of historic Paphos! Don't let this place stay hidden from your visit, it's must, and Alexey is definitely one of the friendliest owner in town too!

"I don't know why other reviews are not the best. Went with my daughter the week before last and had a lovely experience. Our only complaint was that there was sooooo much food, we didn't think it would ever stop! It was all delicious and the service was friendly and unrushed. If you want a typical Cypriot meze ignore the complainers and give Apomero a go. You won't be disappointed!"
